At Parallel Blue, we are passionate about giving back to the communities we work in, and we’re proud to offer our team the opportunity to dedicate time to causes close to their hearts through our volunteering initiative. Tamsin from our team spent a day with Sunflowers Suicide Support, a Gloucestershire-based charity providing vital care and guidance to those impacted by suicide.
Founded in 2018, Sunflowers was established by families in Gloucestershire who had experienced the devastating impact of suicide first-hand. The charity provides practical and emotional support to individuals and families, offering counselling, peer support groups, workshops, and community outreach. Their mission is to ensure that no one affected by suicide feels alone.
During her volunteering day, Tamsin worked closely with Divya, Sunflowers’ Marketing and Communications Officer, to provide practical support and guidance. Together, they:
- Designed promotional posters for upcoming fundraising campaigns
- Created media plans to help raise awareness of Sunflowers’ services
- Assisted with event scheduling/planning for future community fundraising activities
- Shared knowledge and mentoring to help strengthen the charity’s marketing approach and planning
It was a day filled with collaboration, creativity, and knowledge-sharing, with the aim of leaving Sunflowers with a barrel of tools they can use going forward.
